SILLOTH

SILLOTH ON SOLWAY, CUMBRIA.

This place is the epitome of Links Golf, it sits right on the sea, the Solway Firth, in a quiet, quaint arm of Cumbria, a bit out on a limb, which may explain why this course has been voted one of the best value for money courses in the UK.

The holes are ever undulating and a lot are blind, they twist and turn themselves over the dunes and heather. It’s a real test, I can imagine more-so in summer when the fairways are hard and roll out, but it’s welcoming. It starts with the modest clubhouse and the friendly members and Pro. I cant put my finger on it, but the course is inviting, immaculate, but a proper ‘players course’, if it’s not on your list, it should be.
