Joked an ex Royal Marine officer who fought in the Falklands, when I asked him why he decided to buy an Inn. Seven weary men have made our way through the quaint village of Aberlady, collapsed onto wooden benches outside the white walled Kilspindie House after a day of travel and club swinging, and are now beguiled by a wispy grey beard ruffling in the sea breeze. The marine proudly wields an antique putter with an interlocking grip, one of many hickory putters placed amongst a cave of golf memorabilia. His piercing gaze is nostalgic and intense.
